HUMAN SCENERY - NATURAL CURVES

Based on a brief to Re-Picture the Picturesque, I was inspired by a life-long passion for nature photography to re-examine the traditional picturesque landscape. This drew me to macro work and medium format film but away from nature to human bodies and into a studio. The abstract close-ups show the fascinating contours of the body from various angles. My aim was to distract from the fixation with the ‘perfect’ body image and its social pressure, to encouraging the viewer to admire the body in less obvious picturesque ways. It's also a juxtaposition from the traditional landscape by using less light and zooming in.
